Invaders, and Invader fans,
We have been informed that Carleton University's Keith Harris Stadium is not in the condition we expected.
The construction progress appeared to be complete, but I was notified Tuesday by a senior director of Carleton athletics that the stands, and score clock will not be ready in time for our play-off game on Sat., Aug. 3 against the Durham Hawkeyes.
In order to provide our players and fans with the best possible football experience, we will be relocating our game back to our 2013 home at Beckwith Field. Although we were looking forward to returning to our home field at Carleton, Beckwith Field is the best football field the surrounding Ottawa area has, and I would not see the Invaders play on a field that is anything but exceptional.
I apologize to everyone for this confusion, and I truly hope that we have not inconvenienced you. I hope all of you in Invader Nation will be able to reorganize your plans to attend.
I would like to thank the Township of Beckwith for creating a home for the 2013 Invaders. Throughout what has been a COMPLETE city-wide renovation of football fields in Ottawa, Beckwith has always had an open door for our team, as well as other youth, school and university programs. The Ottawa Invaders owe it to the Township of Beckwith win our first Northern Football Conference championship.
